These are giant Bamboo native to Asaam ,India but now a naturalised specie. This is a tropical Bamboo but they are also grown in a wide variety of climates including the Western Cape. Height 20-30m with a 100-120mm culm diameter . Grown mostly for large scale horticultural developments and perimeter hedging and screening around housing developments.

1-10 Litre Dendrocalmus Asper

These are Tropical plants and native to Thailand, Sri Lankaand Indonesia. They are currently been planted in Pietermaritzburg and Durban North coast by some sugar cane farmers. They have also been used successfully as windbreaks around macadamia nut plantations. This is the Bamboo of choice with the view of starting a Bamboo Industry in SA. They have shownastonishing growth. Aspers planted out 3 years ago have now reached height of 12m with culm diameter of 50mm. They perform well in these tropical areas. The leaves are broad and ideal for Biomass and cattle fodder.  I have approx. 2,000 plants which are ready for planting out now. I will alsohave another 12,000 which are been hardened off and will be available early next year.

These is a fast growing ideal for garden perimeter walls, hedges and screening . Height: approx. 10m with a 30mm diameter culm

(Common name "Black Bamboo)

This is most highly sought after Bamboo for pots. Delicate leaves and straight green culms turning black after some time.

A runner variety so should be container pots or within a dedicated planting area.
